Carmignac has launched Carmignac Portfolio Invest Europe, a European equity fund with a flexible approach to quality growth investing.

As market leadership in European equities can shift between sectors over the course of the market cycle, Carmignac Portfolio Invest Europe takes a flexible approach to sector allocation, seeking to capture evolving trends and opportunities while maintaining its focus on quality growth companies. The fund seeks to build a diversified portfolio by expanding the range of quality growth opportunities, focusing on companies with strong competitive positions, transformation potential and the ability to create long-term value, with the aim of delivering outperformance across a variety of market regimes. Its investment universe will include Emerging Europe, reflecting an open-minded approach to identifying the most compelling opportunities across the region.

The new fund is managed by Frederic Jeanmaire, a top-performing European equity fund manager who joined Carmignac earlier this year.

Frederic is an experienced active stock picker who focuses on European companies with strong earnings growth potential. Prior to joining Carmignac, he managed a number of European equity funds including a pan-European equity fund, consistently rated five stars by Morningstar, which he managed for 12 years. The strategy achieved top-decile performance over one, three, five and 10 years, as well as over the entirety of Frederic’s tenure. Since Frederic assumed management in September 2014, the strategy returned 217.8% net, outperforming its benchmark, the MSCI Europe Index, by 73.5%, and its category average by 109.0%.1

Frederic seeks to identify companies with durable business models and strong positions within their value chains; businesses benefitting from structural growth, strong management or opportunities for transformation; and companies with the potential to create long-term value through growth and sustainably superior returns on capital.

Carmignac Portfolio Invest Europe is classified as an Article 8 fund under the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR), reflecting the integration of environmental and/or social characteristics within its investment approach.

Frederic Jeanmaire comments: “With shifts in industrial policy, supply chains, digitalisation, AI, and geopolitics creating new winners and losers among European companies, I see a strong case for redefining quality growth through a more forward-looking, sector-agnostic and pragmatic approach to equity investing.

Our new fund is designed to capture opportunities across different market environments, targeting structural growth across sectors and countries, including Emerging Europe. That breadth, coupled with the ability to adapt as conditions evolve, is where I believe active, high-conviction investing can make a tangible difference for our clients.

Maxime Carmignac, chief executive officer of Carmignac UK and head of strategic product development at Carmignac, comments: “European equities remain one of our key convictions – rooted in our heritage, but more importantly, driven by the unrealised potential we continue to see across the region. I am convinced that Frederic, with his pragmatic approach to investing and impressive track record, is exceptionally well placed to complement our European equity range and help our clients capture the breadth of opportunities across this asset class. Importantly, the new fund will offer a compelling, actively managed counterweight to US exposure, which remains heavily concentrated in AI, helping investors build more balanced portfolios and mitigate concentration risk.
