Carmignac has appointed Frederic Jeanmaire, a top-performing European equity fund manager, to its London-based investment team. He will join the business on 3 August 2026.

Frederic will co-manage the Carmignac Portfolio Grande Europe and FP Carmignac European Leaders strategies alongside Mark Denham. He will also co-manage the Carmignac Portfolio Patrimoine Europe strategy alongside Jacques Hirsch as the investment team gears up for the launch of a new European equity fund later this year.

Frederic holds British and French dual nationality and brings 20 years of experience in European equity investing. He began his career as an equity research analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in London after graduating from HEC Paris, and is a CFA charterholder.

He joins Carmignac from Columbia Threadneedle, where he has worked since 2011. During his time there, Frederic managed a number of European equity funds with combined assets under management of €3.9bn. This included a pan-European equity fund, consistently rated five stars by Morningstar, which he managed for 12 years.

The strategy achieved top-decile performance over one, three, five and ten years, as well as over the entirety of Frederic’s tenure.

Since Frederic assumed management in September 2014, the strategy returned 217.8% net, outperforming its benchmark, the MSCI Europe Index, by 73.5%, and its category average by 109.0%.1

Frederic is an experienced active stock picker focused on companies with strong earnings growth potential. He follows a pragmatic, evidence-based approach to stock selection.

Frederic focuses on identifying long-term growth trends and businesses that are set to benefit from them through competitive positioning, innovative product offerings and effective management. In-depth company evaluation and value chain analysis are at the core of his investment approach.

Frederic’s appointment follows a series of senior equity specialist hires into the investment team, including Kristofer Barrett and Naomi Waistell, as the firm continues to reinforce its ranks with top-performing, high-conviction active managers.

Edouard Carmignac comments:

“We welcome Frederic to the team as Carmignac continues to methodically strengthen its investment capabilities and sharpen its product range by hiring best-in-class talent. Frederic’s strong track record, high-conviction approach to stock picking and focus on client outcomes make him an excellent fit as we further consolidate our position as Europe’s leading independent active asset manager.”

Frederic Jeanmaire adds:

“I see an obvious fit between Carmignac’s investment approach and my own, with a shared emphasis on active management, rigorous analysis and a passion for identifying the next major sources of growth. I am impressed by the calibre of the firm’s investment talent and look forward to joining a team of experienced, high-conviction stock pickers focused on delivering strong performance for our clients.”
