Carmignac strengthens tech sector expertise with TMT analyst appointment

Carmignac has strengthened its equity investment team with the appointment of Mathias Santos Silva as a technology, media and telecom (TMT) analyst and reinforce its footprint on the tech sector as a core area expertise.

Mathias joins Carmignac from Boden Capital where he was a senior analyst covering the TMT sector from both a long and short investing perspective. He has previously worked in several investment firms in the Nordics, France and the UK, including a position as an equity research analyst at Morgan Stanley from 2014 – 2017. He started his career in 2012 and has a Business & Economics MSc from the Stockholm School of Economics and is a CFA Charterholder.

Led by David Older, Carmignac’s equity team consists of 20 experts in European, emerging market and global equities. Fund managers are supported by dedicated and experienced sector specialists, enriching the investment process through their in-depth analysis and conviction, as well as an entrepreneurial mindset geared towards today’s fast-paced and evolving capital markets. The strength of the team lies in their ability to capitalize on global secular trends through a stock specific, bottom-up approach which is supported by the firm’s top-down macro analysis and strict risk-management process.

Mathias is based in London and reports to David Older.
